Enify Engine is a small background application that you need to install to use Enify. It's vital for end users functionality and is also an important component for ensuring safety. Here's what you need to know about Enify Engine.

What is Enify Engine?

Enify Engine is a small application that your users need to install when they first start using Enify. It is a small background application located in the system tray and takes secure, authorized commands from the Enify application.

Enify Engine is there to launch applications you select in Enify and place them on the screens in the selected layouts. Enify Engine also keeps track of how many monitors you have connected to your PC. You can find Enify Engine as soon as you log in to Enify (see button in the picture) 👇🏻

Why does Enify Engine need to be installed?

favEnifyEngine is required to select and control how many monitors you have connected to your PC and which layout you want to use. If you use Enify to launch an application and place it in an on-screen layout, EnifyEngine will help. EnifyEngine is, for example, asked to open, move and close programs by Enify and gives feedback on whether it did this or not.

Where is Enify Engine installed?

Enify Engine is installed here:
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Programs\EnifyEngine.
You do not have to be an Administrator to install Enify Engine. If there are several users on one PC and they all want to use Enify, Enify Engine must be installed for each user. Why?

Security Enify Engine

All communication with Enify takes place locally on your PC, no communication from the PC.
The program runs with your permissions (has no elevated accesses) and is deliberately designed to have very limited functionality to reduce any security implications.
The only data collected by Enify Engine are log files located locally on your computer. These are used for troubleshooting purposes in case you encounter problems; Epsis does not have access to them. The support team may ask you to send excerpts of these logs if you request assistance. You can easily find and review them from the Enify Engine icon in the notification area (right click: "Get Logs"). If there are several users on the PC and they are going to use Enify, Enify Engine must be installed for each user.
