Enify Feature I Creating Templates

Templates aim to simplify creating Enify elements for end users. They work for almost any application. Here's all you need to know: create, edit, delete, publish, unpublish, and assign templates.

Enify Templates are pre-designed templates that come with Enify, including popular ones such as Edge, Chrome, and Office. However, our customers often need templates for specific applications. These templates contain the required application and process data for creating and capturing elements. An element contains the placeholder input required to provide context. Here's how you can start creating templates for yourself and your team:

NOTE: Please note that this feature is exclusively accessible to users with the appropriate subscription. If you do not have access, please reach out to your organization's superuser for assistance.


Getting started

    • Within Enify, access the top menu and click on the gear icon. This will lead you to a range of features within Enify, including the Template option. Once you open the template module, you will see a comprehensive list of existing Templates, complete with metadata such as Name, Description, Last edited by, Last edited, User group, and dependents.



  • Create Template
    • Click on the "Create Template" button to open the Template editor window.
    • Give the Template a name and description, assign it a User group, and add an icon for it.

    • Save to apply changes.
    • The Templates window will display, showing your newly created Template in the list.

  • Edit Template
    • Find the Template you wish to edit and click on the pencil icon on the right side. This action will bring up the Template editor window, where you can make your desired changes.
    • You can edit name, description, User group and icon.
    • Select the Save icon to apply your changes.

 

  • Create Template variants
    Template variants are simply different ways of opening a program.
    • An example can be:
      • To open Microsoft Edge normally and in kiosk mode. You need two different variants to do this.
    • Locate the Template where you want to create the variant and click on the pencil on the far right (the Template editor window should appear).
    • In the variant section, click the Create new variant button (the Template variant window should appear).
    • Fill out the necessary information.

TIP: Notice the Close behavior – the default is to Close the application window when the session ends. 
    • Click Save. The Template editor window should appear and you should see the new variant in the variant list. 

      • Publish Template Variant
        • To Publish the Template variant (so that other users can use it), check the Publish checkbox on the far right of the template variant window.
  1. Edit Template variant:
    • In the Template editor window variant section, find the specific variant you wish to edit and click on the pencil icon located on the right side. This will bring up the Template variant window where you can make changes to the name, description, file path, arguments, closing behavior, variables, and window evaluations.
    • Select the Save icon to apply your changes, which will prompt the Template editor window to appear.

  2. To delete a template:
    • In the Template editor window, find the Template you want to delete and click the Delete icon. Confirm by selecting Yes.
    • The main window will appear and the Template list will be updated.
    • In the Template editor window variant section, find the variant you want to delete and click the pencil icon on the far right. This will open the Template variant window.
    • At the bottom of the Template variant window, click the Delete button and confirm by selecting Yes.
    • The Template editor window will reappear and the variant list will be updated.

Note: It is not possible to delete templates and template variants that come with Enify. Only templates and variants that you have created can be deleted.

What are Enify Templates?

Enify is delivered with some of the most used Templates for instance Edge, Chrome and Office. Often our customers want to create templates for specialist applications. Templates contain the application and process data necessary to create and capture elements. An element simply contains the placeholder input required to provide context. Here is how you can start creating Templates for you and your team:

You need to have the role Admin to access these functions.

Getting started

    • In Enify, navigate to apps Apps →  data-table Templates.
    • Here you will find the Create Template button and a list of existing Templates.
    • The list includes metadata like Name, description, Last edited by, Last edited, User group and dependents.
  • Create Template
    • Click the Create Template button ( the Template editor window should appear ).
    • Give the Template a name, description, assign a User group to the Template and add an icon for the Template.
    • Save to apply changes.
    • The Templates window should appear and your Template should be in the list.

  • Edit Template
    • Locate the Template you want to edit and click the pencil on the far right (the Template editor window should appear).
    • You can edit name, description, User group and icon.
    • Click the Save icon to save you changes.

  • Edit Template variant:
    • In the Template editor window variant section, locate the variant you want to edit and click on the pencil on the far right (the Template variant window should appear).
    • You can edit name, description, file path, arguments, closing behaviour, variables and windows evaluations.
    • Click the Save icon to save you changes (the Template editor window should appear).
  • Delete Template and variants:
    • In the Template editor window, locate the Template you want to delete and click the Delete icon and confirm with Yes.
    • The main window should appear and the Template list should be updated.
    • In the Template editor window variant section, locate the variant you want to Delete and click the pencil on the far right (the Template variant window should appear).
    • Click the Delete button on the bottom of the page and confirm with Yes.
    • The Template editor window should appear and the variant list should be updated.

Note: It is not possible to delete Templates and Template variants that comes with Enify. Only Templates and variants that you have created is possible to delete.
